9 IST Week 6/7 Project Work

Part 1:

Email: A process of sending text messages in electronic form. The messages can also include images and video clips.

Mailing List: A discussion group that occurs via mass email distributions. Mailing lists are usually maintained by individuals utilizing list server software.

Message Board: A script on a web site with a submission form that allows visitors to post messages on your web site for others to read.

Discussion group: A particular section within the USENET system typically, though not always, dedicated to a particular subject of interest. Also known as a newsgroup.

Newsgroups: an Internet message board, usually devoted to a specific topic, to which a user may post comments or queries and view the replies of other people.

IRC (Internet Relay Chat): A facility that allows people – from many different places in the world at one time – to chat in real time.

Messaging: A form of network communication that appears instantly on the monitor of the receiving system. Also called instant messaging.

Search Engine: A software that searches for information and returns sites which provide that information. Examples of search engines are AltaVista, Google

Browser: An application used to view and navigate the World Wide Web and other Internet resources.

Authoring Software: A category of software which lets you make a web page without having any knowledge of HTML.

Part 2:

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

There policy is:

  • must be over 13
  • must be responsible for all your things
  • must be responsible for your password
  • not abusing etc other users
  • cannot use it illegal reasons
  • you must be responsible for everything you submit
  • you must not hack twitter
  • you cannot create or submit unwanted emails to other members
  • you cannot transmit any worms or viruses
  • you cannot use twitter to violate any laws including copyright

This rules are basically just there to benifit you for keeping your work safe and your computer from unexpected friends (viruses).
